We’re Hiring: A Client Development Advisor
Description
As a Client Development Advisor at BKFi, you are the first person a prospective client meets and the one responsible for moving them from initial conversation to signed engagement. You own every step: discovery, qualification, proposal, and close. Once a client signs, you hand off to our Planning team, who manages the ongoing relationship.
Your day-to-day will be focused primarily on generating new revenue for the firm, both through direct prospect engagements as well as contributions towards our lead generation efforts. This role is right for someone who loves consultative selling, is motivated by a clear scoreboard, wants to contribute meaningfully to company growth, and is excited to represent a firm they can be genuinely proud of.
What You’ll Own
Pipeline & Prospecting
Conduct discovery and introductory calls daily with inbound and outbound leads.
Manage and advance your pipeline with strict CRM hygiene (stage progression, activity logging, notes).
Proactively monitor for prospect triggers: funding rounds, IPOs, tender offers, liquidity events, and job changes.
Work referral and center-of-influence relationships (CPAs, attorneys, startup ecosystem contacts) to generate self-sourced opportunities.
Sales Execution
Run a consultative, structured sales process from first touch through signed engagement.
Qualify prospects against firm fit criteria: service tier, complexity, timeline, and intent.
Present BKFi's planning offering in a compelling, honest, client-first way.
Handle questions and objections, manage follow-up cadences, and drive deals to a decision.
Maintain accurate forecast data and report on pipeline health, conversion rates, and win/loss trends.
Handoff & Collaboration
Execute a clean, documented handoff to the Planning team upon client signing.
Provide context on client goals, sensitivities, and expectations to ensure a seamless onboarding experience.
Actively contribute to BKFi's growth strategy including content creation needs, lead generation, technology needs, and client onboarding process.
Experience, Skills, and Core Competencies
Must-haves:
5+ years of consultative financial services sales experience; you have run a full sales cycle before.

Strong discovery and qualification skills. You ask good questions and listen before providing solutions.
CRM fluency and attention to detail; pipeline hygiene is not negotiable.
Excellent communication: clear, direct, and comfortable with complex financial topics.
Self-directed and result-oriented; you thrive when there is a scoreboard.
Series 65 or CFP (or willingness to pursue).
A sense of humor

Background in financial planning or wealth management.
Familiarity with equity compensation (RSUs, ISOs, NSOs, ESPP).

What Success Looks Like
In the first 90 days, you are running your own discovery calls, managing an active pipeline, and closing your first deals. By month 12, you have contributed meaningfully to BKFi's organic growth targets and built a repeatable process that works. You will continue to increase funding results in Year 2 and beyond as you have established a mature pipeline and created a repeatable and predictable sales process.
We are targeting 25%+ organic AUM growth in 2026, driven by strong qualified lead volume and a step-up in average deal size. You will be central to getting there.
