Shane Mason, CPA, CFP®, CPWA is a Co-Founder of the firm. He started his career in Big Four accounting, but quickly realized that traditional financial services weren’t built to serve the needs of young, creative professionals with real income and no one to call for help.

That realization led to the launch of a boutique tax firm, which evolved into Brooklyn Fi, a national firm known for its technical depth, smart systems, and human-first advice. Shane’s expertise spans both tax and financial planning, with a focus on building scalable processes for delivering high-quality advice.

He is a frequent speaker at accounting and advisory industry conferences, where he shares insights on equity compensation, tax strategy, and building modern advisory firms.

Shane Mason is the Co-Founder of Brooklyn Fi, where he merges his extensive public accounting experience with wealth management expertise to help tech professionals and self-employed creatives build lasting wealth. His journey began with seven years in public accounting at PriceWaterhouseCoopers and Raich, Ende, Malter, where he worked with publicly listed tech firms in Austin, Texas before relocating to Brooklyn.

His specialized knowledge spans tax planning, equity compensation, and wealth management strategies. Beyond his CPA certification, he holds credentials as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and Certified Private Wealth Advisor™. As co-host of The Liquidity Event podcast with Ally Jane Ayers, he's known for breaking down complex financial concepts into actionable insights.

Shane has established himself as an expert in navigating the complexities of New York taxes and focuses on the technical elements of financial planning. He regularly speaks at industry conferences including AICPA and appears as a guest expert discussing tax strategy and financial planning.
