Linking Your Accounts in Right Capital

Security codes, new passwords, two-factor authentication….oh my!

First off…it is ESSENTIAL that you have a password manager like LastPass installed.

Please note that LastPass is so eager to help that it may try to auto fill your Right Capital password as you add outside accounts, just ignore it.

Betterment

If you type in your Betterment user name and password correctly and you get an error message it’s probably because Betterment requires a unique app password to log in.

Here’s how to generate and use a unique password.

1. Log in to Betterment and select “Settings” from the vertical menu. Navigate to the Security tab.

2. Find the “App Passwords” box in the bottom right corner.

3. Click “Generate a New App Password”

4. You’ll be prompted to select an application. Type “Right Capital.”

5. A unique password will be generated which you should then plug into the “link account” box in Right Capital with your Betterment username.

NY 529 plan

You must type “ny 529” to link the correct account. It’s “NY 529 College Savings Program.”
